I continue my interest in specific structures set against the painted surface. Here we have the pilings of what will eventually be a bridge.
I’m so honored to be participating in Personal Structures – Identities in Venice, Italy next week!
I’m very excited to announce that I have been invited to participate in PERSONAL STRUCTURES organized by the GAA Foundation and hosted by the European Cultural Centre in Venice Italy during the Venice Biennale, 2019.
This small work was chosen:
I want to express my thanks to all involved, especially to artists Jo Ellen Burke and Terry Meyer who took it upon themselves to organize this Go Fund Me page on my behalf. Thank you all who have contributed!
Thank you to Volume One for this writeup.
And a special thank you to Al Ross and Wisconsin Public Radio for this interview.
More about this soon…
Very excited to be at this point in the painting. I prepped & “sunk” the boat last night. A beautiful day at 46°F to spend under the sky. I have my work cut out for me now.
Video can bee seen at my Instagram.
I have a thing for fishing lures. I’m not sure why exactly… I don’t fish. Here’s some details from past #paintings. I use ashes and small seeds from our field for texture.

We are honored for the opportunity to curate and present this dialogue between Eric Lee’s ‘Verehrung’ and Robert Marinelli’s refined and sophisticated furniture line. Robert Marinelli’s timeless vision creates an intimate and warm space which invites one to experience Eric Lee’s prolific narrative across five panels. The common theme of subdivision and similar color palettes are reflected in both Robert Marinelli’s furniture and Eric Lee’s painting, creating a comprehensive aesthetic that marries the design elements of the space.
Oil, ignited gunpowder, ash, paper on five hardboard panels

I had an amazing time with UWEC art students this morning. I loved every minute of it. I pulled no punches and was very straight with them about my experiences and what awaits them “out there” in the art world. I did my very best to encourage and inspire them, and to embolden them about their importance and worth. I care a lot for students and I wish them the very best.
