2010-11 focused less on large paintings than on the exploration of specific materials — charcoal, various inks, plastics, paints and continued work with various flamable materials — and their characteristics. My main concern was the behavior of materials when subjected to deteriorating circumstances, such as water, fire, freezing and the stresses of compression. This is an extension of my overall interest in the passage of time and temporality.
